Riaan van der Watt has been working in the Health Technology field since 1995. He has worked for two of the three large private hospital groups as hospital engineer, clinical engineer and as group technical manager. Riaan has been a member of the National Council of the Clinical Engineering Association of South Africa (CEASA) since its formation in 2001, and he holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, an Honour in Biomedical Engineering and a Masters in Engineer­ing Management, all from the University of Pretoria.

The full-time resource base was extended in October of 2007 with the addition of Helen Potgieter to the team. Helen has extensive experience as a clinical engineer but also as an operational manager within a number of Netcare’s flagship hospitals as well as in their regional management structure. Helen holds a Diploma in Clinical Engineering as well as a MBA from Unisa.

In April 2008, Hennie van Tonder joined Rho Consulting. Hennie also has his roots in the Health Provider Industry as Clinical Engineering Practitioner, originally with Clinic Holdings and later with Netcare. He recently managed an extend­ed technical service department for one of the leading suppliers and manufacturers of Medical Equipment in South Africa. Hennie holds a Diploma in Clinical Engineering and a Bachelor in Commerce from the University of Pretoria.

Through an industry network, built up over many years, Rho Consulting has access to various domain experts to call upon when the specific project requires expertise over and above what is available on a full time basis.
